Terms of service
The ground rules for using CheckedOff.
Effective September 27, 2026
1. Using CheckedOff
These terms apply to the CheckedOff website at checkedoff.space and its linked or installed web app, previously named OurList. Together they are operated as an independent shared-list service. By using CheckedOff, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
You must be at least 13 and meet the requirements of your sign-in provider. If you are not old enough to agree to these terms under applicable law, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to them with you.
2. A free service
CheckedOff currently has no subscription fee or in-app payments. Your own internet or mobile-data charges may apply. If paid features are introduced later, their price and terms will be explained before you choose them; using the free app does not authorize future charges.
3. Accounts and invitations
Use an account you are authorized to use, keep your device and sign-in credentials secure, and share invitations only with intended recipients. Your sign-in provider’s terms also apply.
A household invitation gives access to that household’s lists. A list-only invitation grants read-only or read and write access to one list, according to the sender’s choice. People with edit access can change shared content. Make sure you are comfortable granting the selected access before sending an invitation.
To use a new sign-in method with existing lists, connect it from Your account while signed in to your original account. A separate, unconnected sign-in may create a separate CheckedOff account.
4. Your lists and responsible use
You retain any rights you have in content you add. You give CheckedOff permission to store, process, copy, and display that content only as needed to operate the service, synchronize your devices, and share with people you authorize, subject to the privacy policy.
Only add information you are entitled to share. Do not use CheckedOff for unlawful activity, harassment, spam, malicious content, unauthorized access, or attempts to disrupt the service. Do not put passwords, payment details, or highly sensitive personal information in your lists.
5. Offline use and shared changes
Offline edits are stored on the device that made them until synchronization succeeds. Changes may be delayed, conflict with another person’s changes, or be rejected if a list is deleted or access is removed. Unsynced edits cannot be recovered from the server if that device or its browser data is lost.
Checked items stop appearing after approximately 24 hours. Deletion and cleanup in the interface do not necessarily permanently erase server records, backups, or other people’s offline copies. The privacy policy explains retention and deletion requests. Keep a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
6. Availability and changes
CheckedOff is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis. We aim to make it useful, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free synchronization, or permanent storage. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. We will try to give reasonable notice of major changes when practical.
We may restrict access to protect users, address abuse, or comply with applicable law. You can stop using the app at any time and request account-data deletion using the contact instructions below.
7. Responsibility and your legal rights
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the operator disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, CheckedOff. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Updates to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service changes. The current version and effective date will be posted here. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention, with additional agreement requested where required.
9. Contact
For help, privacy questions, or requests to access or delete your account information, contact the operator using the developer support email shown on the app’s Google sign-in consent screen (which may still show the previous OurList name during the branding update). If a family member invited you, they can also put you in touch with the operator. Include the email you use to sign in and what you need help with. Never send your password, sign-in codes, or invitation links.
